Journal of Maps Student Edition Special Issue
Together with the Journal of Maps Student Edition (JoM SE) we would like to bring out a special issue dedicated to the Annual Student Meeting. This gives you the opportunity to publish your work by submitting a map along with its associated abstract (1000-2000 words). The abstract should describe the broad research area, the data presented in the map, any pertinent techniques used during the collection/mapping process, and a brief statement about the conclusions to be drawn from the work, as well as relevance and importance. Your work will be reviewed by two internal referees, and constructive feedback will be returned to you. If your submitted material is successful, it will be published online at www.journalofmaps.com, where you can also find more information about the journal itself, submission guidelines and examples. For the special issue we require a minimum of 5 abstracts. So, if this is relevant to you and you have map data to publish from your work, then please get in touch with the meeting organiser as soon as possible. The deadline for submission is set for 30th May with review over the summer and publication in the latter half of 2008. Please submit your material to the conference organiser who will forward the submission directly to the Journal’s editor. Additional information on this will be made available at the conference. In case there isn’t enough interest for a special issue, you can always submit directly to the JoM SE individually.
