GEOSS: The Way Forward? BNSC ICP2 Workshop

30th October, 2007 – 30th October, 2007

REGISTRATION DEADLINE 19th OCTOBER 2007

BNSC is hosting a one-day workshop to update the EO community on activities under its International Co-operation Programme (ICP2). The workshop will focus on ICP2 activities which contribute to the international Group on Earth Observation’s Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS).

Over the past 2 years, BNSC has continued to contribute to major international EO initiatives by participating in, for example, the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS) and its Working Groups on Calibration and Validation (WGCV) and Information on Systems and Services (WGISS).

In addition, during 2007, ICP2 has supported four projects geared towards enabling the UK EO sector to exploit recent international developments in technologies. The results of these will be presented at the workshop, particularly emphasising how they contribute to the implementation of GEOSS. There will also be presentations from other organisations involved in GEOSS related activities.

BNSC expects the workshop to be of particular interest to those who have existing or planned projects that may benefit from improved awareness of and interaction with international activities such as GEOSS.
