‘High Resolution Remote Sensing’ - Geological Remote Sensing Group AGM 2009

The theme of the GRSG Annual General Meeting is ‘High Resolution Remote Sensing’ and will feature presentations on the geoscientific applications of high spatial and spectral remote sensing. Papers accepted so far include authors from 12 countries and 23 organisations in the following sessions and workshops:

  • Environment and Geohazards (Arup, British Geological Survey, Imperial College, NRC Iceland, Open University, University of Portsmouth)
  • New Sensors, Data, and Viewers (British Geological Survey. ESRI, Google, GeoEye, German DLR, Harris Corporation, Intergraph, Kingston University)
  • Minerals and Mining (Anglo American, Aretech, Pacific Geomatics, SpecTIR, Vale-Inco)
  • Oil, Gas, and Energy (Alto Americas, German BGR, Midland Valley Exploration, Nigel Press Associates, Shell)
  • Field Spectrometers, Core and Ore Sorting (Anglo American, AusSpec, Spectra-Map Ltd, University of Victoria)
  • Spectral Geology Workshop: December 12th (Dr Sasha Pontual, AusSpec)

The GRSG AGM will also include:

  • GRSG Student Award Presentations: field studies, laboratory studies, and innovation awards
* Social/Sponsor Programme: o ‘Icebreaker’ – December 9th o Wine reception o Conference dinner
