GIS Day 2007
Welcome to GIS Day 2007. This initiative is sponsored by Bath Spa University along with Getmapping PLC & the Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Society (RSPSoc). In every type of business and in every part of our lives, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and geography helps people to do a better job and make a difference. Since 1987, the National Geographic Society has sponsored Geography Awareness Week to promote geographic literacy in schools, communities and organisations with the focus on education. GIS Day is intended to promote the understanding of GIS in schools around the world.

Who uses geospatial technology? We all use geospatial technology these days whether as individuals for running our daily lives, in business to plan and manage assets, or in government departments to plan and manage all the aspects of running a country such as schools, health and emergency services, transport and so on.
