Earth observation data is ideal for mapping surface hydrological features to help understand natural recharge systems, identify suitable locations for placing artificial recharge structures (dykes, ponds, injection wells, etc), collect data on existing wells to determine effectiveness of recharge, establish ground water monitoring procedures.
