Ocean Colour SIG Annual Report 1999-2000
The second meeting of the Ocean Colour SIG will be a special session at UK Marine Science 2000. This is being organized by Alison Weeks and Samantha Lavender, and it unfortunately coincides with the RSS annual meeting.
Samantha has just moved from the Centre for Coastal and Marine Science (Plymouth) to the University of Plymouth (as Lecturer in Geomatics within the Institute of Marine Studies), and so the webpages will be moving location shortly.
The increasing interest in ocean colour continued in 1999 with the launch of several marine remote sensing missions, which included NASA’s Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectrometer MODIS
The Ocean Colour SIG has been kept informed of developments through the mailing list and the regularly updated webpages.
The mailing list currently contains 38 members from both the UK and Europe, but this is only a small proportion of the actual membership of the SIG.
