Ocean Colour SIG Annual Report 2002-2003

The Ocean Colour SIG (OC SIG) is now jointly affiliated to the RSPSoc and the Challenger Society for Marine Sciences (CSMS). It aims to promote the study of marine remote sensing with particular emphasis on areaas that are of benefit to the wider community.

Activities include:

  • Organisation of Events and Meetings, both in conjunction with the two societies and with other organisations holding similar aims
  • Maintaining an Email Listing for the dissemination of information
  • Maintaining www pages with links to information relevant to the SIG’s activities
  • The OC SIG is organising a one-day symposium in London on 16 July 2003, which will be entitled “Sensing and Mapping the Marine Environment from Near and Far”.

The symposium will bring together the Remote Sensing and Mapping Communities, and provide presentations from a wide range of speakers. (Abstracts are available as a download from this page). Also at this symposium, the OC_SIG will solicit abstracts for the RSPSoc2003 Annual Conference.
