SAR Sig Annual Report 1998-1999
As we reach the end of the millennium, interest in Synthetic Aperture Radar is steadily growing. This is due in part to the expectation of the range of new spaceborne SAR systems to be launched in the next 12 months, as well as to the increasing use of advanced SAR techniques such as interferometry and polarimetry.
While the SAR Special Interest Group has been relatively inactive in the last year, there have been. a number of activities behind the scenes: the new web pages are nearing completion and an article about SAR for the Newsletter is currently in production.
Discussions are also taking place to organise a one-day meeting for researchers interested in the potential of the new ENVISAT Advanced SAR, notice of which will be given in the Newsletter and web pages.
Suggestions from members for other specialised activities, such as workshops or one-day meetings, are always welcome.
