ASD Inc. and IEEE GRSS Announce Call for Posters
ASD Inc. is accepting poster abstracts for the Art, Science and Applications of Reflectance Spectroscopy scientific symposium taking place in Boulder, Colorado, February 23-25, 2010. The symposium is a one-of-a-kind scientific event highlighting advances in the use of reflectance spectroscopy, new and different applications and techniques, and provides the opportunity for a diverse community to gather and interact. The symposium is co-sponsored by the Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS), a member organization of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
Poster session participation and attendance at Art, Science and Applications of Reflectance Spectroscopy is open to all individuals interested in, or currently utilizing the technology. Both undergraduate and graduate students are particularly encouraged to participate in the conference as part of the Student Poster Competition. Five finalists will receive a certificate recognizing their achievement, and three prizes will be presented: First Prize US$ 500, Second Prize US$ 300, Third Prize US$ 200.

The proceedings will also be available on line following the symposium.
In addition to the Poster Session the symposium spans two full days of plenary sessions featuring 40 internationally recognized speakers from 11 countries, on four continents, with expertise in Radiometry and Calibration, Hyper and Multispectral Imaging, Planetary Surfaces, Geology, Mineral Exploration, Vegetation and Soils, Snow and Ice, Water Bodies, Archeology, Chemometrics, Quantitative Spectroscopy, Pulp and Paper Processing, Metallurgical Processing, and more. The symposium culminates in a gala banquet celebrating ASD Inc.’s 20th anniversary, with keynote address by John S. MacDonald of Day4Energy, Canada, and the Student Poster Competition awards.
On line registration opens October 1, 2009, with Early Bird discounted rates ending January 15, 2010. For more information visit the event website.
