RSPSoc2010 - UPDATE 1st July 2010 !
Reminder of Early Bird registration deadline of 30th June 2010 for RSPSoc2010 – EXTENDED TO 1ST AUGUST 2010 !
The annual conference of the Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Society in 2010 will be held at University College Cork from 31st August to 3rd September. Over 120 high quality abstracts for oral and poster presentations were received and the programme is available online at http://www.rspsoc2010.org/pages/programme.htm.
Other highlights of the three day event include:
- Pre conference workshops on a) Essential Climate Variables and ground truthing, b) UAVs
- Marine and Visualisation sessions hosted by the National Maritime College of Ireland including demonstrations of their visualisation suite
- Exhibition of software and instrument suppliers, publishers and commercial companies conducting Earth Observation activities
- Software workshops led by Infoterra and ITTVis
- Opening ceremony and welcome reception
- Student social event
- Chairman’s XI v. Students football match
- Buffet dinner in the Glucksman Art Gallery on UCC campus
- Annual dinner and ceili in a Cork City Centre hotel with pre-dinner drinks reception hosted by the Port of Cork
As well as registering for the conference and choosing from the range of exciting activities on offer, you can also book accommodation in university campus apartments at a bed and breakfast rate of €60 per night. If you would prefer to stay in hotel, guest house or hostel accommodation there is a wide range to choose from in the vicinity of the university but you will have to make your own arrangements.
More details about all the above can be found at http://www.rspsoc2010.org
The registration portal is now open, and thanks to generous sponsorship that has been secured, costs have been kept relatively low (only €230 for RSPSoc members and €100 for Student members for the 3-day conference – and with the current exchange rate that is a whisker under £200 and £88 respectively).
The deadline for early bird registration is 30th June 2010, after which there will be an increase in fees of about 25% – bear in mind as well that cheaper travel deals can be secured by booking well in advance.
You will need to register an account on the conference management software, Conftool (if you have already submitted an abstract then you have already got an account). If you do not immediately receive confirmation of your account registration on Conftool please check your spam or junkmail folder and add rspsoc2010@ucc.ie to your safe list.
