The BBC Needs You!
If you have an interesting data story to tell…
The GeoInformation Group is working with Lion TV (commissioned by the BBC) to find innovative applications that use remote sensing data.
Lion TV is currently making a television series for the BBC entitled “Britain From Above” and would like to establish contact with you if you are using spatial data and would be interested in taking part in the documentary series to help show the wide range of uses for remote sensing.
Specific areas of interest include (but not limited to):
Modern aerial photography:
Have you used this to plan anything innovative or socially important (eg brownfield site development, implementing a new landfill site or monitoring a large building site)
Historic aerial photography
Land contamination and locating unexploded bombs
Thermal Mapping – how thermal mapping is being used to reduce heat loss
Flood mapping
Height data
Especially in:
Clutter mapping, Noise pollution, use for disaster emergency planning, flight path modelling, whether buildings can be affected by local weather patterns, wind flow, etc
LiDAR
Especially in:
Wind farm planning and Archaeology
Near Infrared
who’s using this and for what?
2012 Olympics
